I drove the event in first person/cockpit view and this was not my first attempt - originally I managed only a Bronze time, trying to go too fast and making too many mistakes.
Let's just say this is a measured drive as opposed to a blisteringly fast one but it was just enough for the Gold and a perfect run score.
If you do have problems with this time rally, aim for a clean run and keep that vital combo score intact as it makes a 200,000 points score difference when you cross the finish line. The trickiest thing about this challenge is the very unpredictable AI behaviour, often veering wildly across the road and making last minute direction changes at the worst possible time for you. You will see how I held back more than once - it is preferable to keep your combo going than it is to save a few seconds with an overtake that you are not 100% certain of making cleanly.
